Our campground is close to full capacity. Talk to our staff about availability.
- If you are an RV camper and are coming to see a show with us, we can only guarantee parking for the night without power or water hook up.
- Dumping privileges are now for resident RV’s only.
- Important note: Due to Covid-19, and until further notice, the Campground is closed to tent camping and campers without their own bathroom facilities.
GENERAL INFO: The campground has 35 sites and is 100 yards away from Pioneer Playhouse, Kentucky’s oldest outdoor theatre, offering professional productions, all summer long. It is the closest campground to Danville, KY.

WATER AND ELECTRIC: All sites have water and electric hookups. All sites can handle 30amps, six have 50 amps. We have bathhouses and one dump station, on property.
RESERVATIONS: We are a “first come, first serve” campground. When you arrive, stop by the office and sign in, then go find the site you like and make yourself at “home.”

RV park renters have access to Dump Station.

The State of Kentucky requires us to charge 6% sales tax on nightly and weekly rates (monthly campers are not subject to sales tax).
HOURS OF OPERATION: The office is open from 9am – 5pm, Monday-Saturday. If you arrive when the office is closed, you can still park.C2 Simply slip payment through the office door, in the envelope provided. (We take cash or personal checks). Or pay in person, when the office is open.
The campground is open all year; during the winter months, the bathhouse becomes uni-sex, as we close one bathroom, during winter. (During winter: call first, to verify that all sites are open: 866-597-5297.)
PAYMENT: We accept cash, personal checks, VISA, DISCOVER, or MASTERCARD; sorry we do NOT accept American Express.
BATHHOUSES: Men’s and women’s bathhouses are available. The bathhouses are part of the theatre, a short 50 or 100 yard walk.
DUMP STATION: Is onsite, free for overnight campers. NOT OPEN TO PUBLIC.
INTERNET HOOKUPS: We have (free) wireless internet access in the office area only, service does not reach to the campground. You may use our wireless service by bringing your computer close to our office. There are tables and chairs available near the office. Sorry, we do not provide satellite hookups.
SAFETY: The campground is very safe, police cruisers drive by, every night.-b (Note: worn-looking trailers located nearby are used by actors during the summer. In fall and winter, the trailers are empty.)
PETS: Pets should be on a leash, please pick up after your pet.
FIREPITS/ TABLES: Picnic tables are provided. Firepits are located in the lower campground, only. Not every site has a firepit. (There is usually plenty of wood to burn, from fallen tree limbs, etc.)
ENTERTAINMENT: We do not provide a pool or recreation area. Dinner and Shows are offered at Pioneer Playhouse during the summer. See play schedule for more information. (There are swings and children’s play areas at the nearby Millenium Park, a five minute drive away.)
We recommend visiting: Shaker Village, Perryville Battlefield, Old Fort Harrod, Old Crow Inn, Constitution Square and McDowell House as well as the beautiful cities of Danville, Harrodsburg and Perryville.

VOLUNTEERING: If you volunteer at Pioneer Playhouse during spring and summer months, you may stay at the campground free of charge. To inquire about our volunteer opportunities, contact Charlotte Henson (owner) 866-597-5297. Pioneer Playhouse has need of the following skills: light carpentry, handy-man, landscaping, kitchen help, costuming (sewing), ushering, etc.
