shot a one-hour documentary 'Summerstock' , following the cast through
an entire season, from auditions in NY to tearing down the final set
of
the season, seen nationally on PBS and on Kentucky Educational Television.
For theatre buffs or for classrooms, it can be ordered from the Playhouse
giftshop.

This beautiful 48-page coffee table booklet (and conversation piece!)
tells the fascinating off-beat history of America's most unique outdoor
theatre, including photos of past alumni (John Travolta, Lee Majors, Jim
Varney), colloquial stories about construction, and an 8 page section
on the makings of the 1956 cult classic, 'Raintree County'. The book contains
never-before published photos of Elizabeth Taylor, Mongtomery Clift, Lee
Marvin and other superstars caught 'behind the scenes' at Danville's Pioneer
Playhouse.
 True Kentucky Legends by Robert Powell features Col. Eben C.
Henson as the only living legend among 12 famous Kentuckians and is available
in the giftshop.
