Pioneer Playhouse assembles a 25-person company that consists of people who are the right 'types' for the roles needed, that summer. Every two weeks, the
entire company auditions for roles. If you are hired as a professional actor, you
will probably be in every production, but you will need to audition every 2-weeks
to determine the part.
Everyone in the company will have the opportunity to work with four or five directors, who have various directing styles.
When not in rehearsal, everyone (intern, apprentice, actor) works backstage doing tech, during normal working hours. (9am - 3pm, with lunch break).
Everyone gets their own rustic "cabin"-style room, bathrooms are communal. Delicious home-cooked meals are served six days a week, two hot meals, breakfast is continental. (No meals served on Sundays). There is an air conditioned actors lounge with a kitchen and cable TV. Wireless internet is available. Laundry facilities are off property.
Pioneer Playhouse produces five plays (mainly comedies) in ten weeks. We seek company members who can handle responsibility in a dedicated theatre environment, working as part of a team, in any capacity. You will be "living, working, breathing" theatre for 10 to 12 weeks. It is a great way to beef up the resume, very quickly.
Heavy partying is not allowed, this is a "work environment, not a paid vacation.
Every other weekend, you have a day and a half "off". Every other weekend is "strike", where everyone works, until the change-over is complete.

Stage productions. Interns
audition for roles in Main Stage productions every
two weeks.

receipt, you will be contacted for an over-the-phone interview.
