2018 Schedule: A sizzling summer of sequels!

June 8-June 23
The Return of Tinker Doyle by Elizabeth Orndorff
A Kentucky Voices Original Event partnering with Danville Sister Cities!
Five years ago, in The Search for Tinker Doyle, Mayor McConnell traveled from Kentucky to Ireland to woo a Sister City while his wife secretly looked up a long lost love. The old flame turned out to be a priest, and now that same Father Doyle is headed to the Bluegrass on a cultural exchange that has the whole town buzzing! Full of Irish music and dance, this original comedy stars famed Irish actor/singer Kieran Cunningham, and celebrates Danville’s very real Sister Cities bond with Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. Rated G

June 26-July 7
Drinking Habits 2: Caught in the Act by Tom Smith
The Sisters of Perpetual Sewing are back in this side-splitting sequel to last year’s smash hit, Drinking Habits! The orphanage where Paul and Kate grew up is in peril and the only way to save the children is for those nutty nuns to mount an epic play to raise money fast….and maybe make a few bottles of that now forbidden but award-winning wine the convent became famous for. What could possibly go wrong? Rated G

July 10-July 21
Granted by Holly Hepp-Galván and Robby Henson
Adapted from the novel by Angela Correll
The highly anticipated final installment in the hugely popular, heartwarming trilogy that began with Grounded! Annie is finally embracing her country roots and racing toward a future with Jake, but wedding plans are complicated by the arrival of her ne’er-do-well father. Meanwhile, Beulah’s friendship with Betty is tested as the women “duke it out” over who’s in charge of the church’s annual potluck dinner. Let the “potluck wars” begin! A Kentucky Voices World Premiere! Rated G

July 24-August 4
Unnecessary Farce by Paul Slade Smith
Two cops. Three crooks. Eight doors. Go! In a small town motel room, an embezzling mayor is set to meet with his female accountant, while next door, two overeager undercover cops wait to catch everything on videotape. But who’s who, and what’s being videotaped, and when exactly will the notorious kilt-wearing, bagpipe-playing hired hitman make his “surprise” entrance? Uproarious undercover comedy! Rated PG

August 7-August 18
Living on Love by Joe DiPietro
When a demanding diva discovers that her larger-than-life maestro husband has become enamored with the lovely young lady hired to ghostwrite his largely fictional autobiography, she hires a handsome young scribe of her own.
